When you first enter Jill’s Place, you can’t help but notice the neon sign reading “The Butcher’s Daughter". This location is where Jerry Shalhoob started the popular family business “Shalhoob Meat Company” back in 1973. After moving the meat company to a larger location, I took over the building in 1987 and started a lunch and catering business, calling it “Shalhoob Deli & Catering”.
After an extensive remodel fifteen years later, adding dinner and a full bar to the menu, the deli became Shalhoob Restaurant. The Santa Barbara locals came up with the name 'Jill’s Place'. So call us Shalhoob or call it Jill's Place! Either way, we're thrilled to have been voted 2018's #1 steakhouse in Santa Barbara by Yelp, and the Santa Barbara Independent. In addition to our delicious steaks, we are known for our brunch menu, prime rib french dip, tri-tip sandwich, burgers, salads, mouth-watering buttermilk fried chicken, unique appetizers, well-made cocktails, and a choice wine list.
